If Christians, Jews, Muslims took this text, which they consider sacred, seriously, we would have a mighty different planet. And yet the essence of capitalism/greed/religion is to take, own, devour the land. If the land isn't outrightly taken, it is exploited for resources. Only barbarians would do such a thing...but remember there isn't any oil in Iraq!
But the land will have its Sabbaths.."I will remember the land. For the land will be deserted by them and will enjoy its Sabbaths...They will pay for their sins because they rejected my laws [one was to give land its Sabbath!] - Leviticus 26
